I know that already shared a photo of the brass clasp and my freshly washed and very old tote that I attached it to and I also shared a quick video encouraging folks to do this on Instagram, and I recommended it on Rec League.** Just in case my campaign to get everyone under the sun to sew a lowly brass clasp into their summer tote has not been fully received, I am once again saying that every sturdy beach/park/pool tote needs a key clasp and if it doesn’t come with one, it’s as simple as getting thyself to the hardware store, picking up a clasp for a few dollars, threading it with some ribbon or twill tape and sewing that puppy into your favorite black-hole of a bag. (Rummaging around the house for a clasp you already own is even better!) It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to stay put. A brass clasp (or similar!) for every bag, I tell you!
