This! I second Anna's note (thank you Anna for articulating for me). I love Erin's words and thoughts and have been a long time follower of these Tea Leaves (since the 1st tiny apartment). I have (and will be) continuing my subscription despite my budget and paying more on the dollar. iI's just so worth it and something I really look forward to reading, so I save elsewhere. Thank you Erin!
Hi Erin. I so appreciate your work. I appreciate your view on politics, family, environment…all the things. I am an art teacher in WI with two girls (9 and 12 🥰🥰) doing my best to show them a life of human AND environmental connection and compassion - so many of your stories hit home. I look forward to them and save them in my inbox to savor - Thank you. I just sent my mom and my sister the free month to your substack link - they are tickled. We adore your books and love the inspirations you provide via social media and substack and obviously, in print.
This may be a loaded question but I was wondering if you would ever consider a paper magazine…is that just never going to be lucrative and make sense for writers again? 😭 I LOVE your books (my 12 year old bedazzled her locker with pockets and hangers from your latest) and have been trying to slow down my pace of life and online consumption…having a monthly or quarterly publication that you curate!?!! Omg I would absolutely prioritize that into my public teacher budget!
I’m sure that’s a whole different ballgame with many things I haven’t thought about and don’t understand. I don’t mean to assume - just curious if you have ever weighed it out as an option…I know that I could find you MINIMUM three subscribers in a very small town in the driftless region of Wisconsin. 💕. That’s without even trying - I KNOW there’d be more.
Thank you for what you do. Raising kids, being intentional and taking care, inspiring strangers - it’s the good stuff. Thanks for reading this and good luck with back to school! ☺️
Anna! Thanks so much for such a kind note. This is something I’ve thought SO MUCH about. This past spring I was really thinking about diving in, but the more I crunched numbers the more it started to look like it would be a project that would break even, but likely not generate income and I just didnt feel like it was something I could justify doing right now—no matter how much I’d love to. Hope to revisit it one day!

Thanks so much, Christy!
