It’s supposedly spring, but we haven’t quite reached the blossoms everywhere, birds chirping, sun-on-face part of the season. At the time of writing it’s raw and wet but for the first time since last summer, my heels are soft and sufficiently moisturized. Indeed, I have what a lady mag for ladies might call sandal-ready feet.

If you don’t suffer from dry heels in cold weather you can probably stop reading now, but also, how?

Maybe I need to drink more water, maybe I was just born this way. In either case, despite all of my best efforts to keep my feet sufficiently moisturized through the winter, inevitably they reach a point of…disrepair. I have tried cocoa and shea and other butters. I have tried straight-up petroleum products, including the extremely ugly foot cream sold behind the counter at hardware stores (IYKYK). I have slept in socks despite my very strong aversion to doing so.
