this is so very much what i needed to read this monday morning. hope your various and varied balm-needing things are moving in the right direction (no teeth pun intended but 🤷🏼♀️). thanks for this.
I really appreciate your writing, always looking forward to read new posts! ❤️
Re braces: I had the lingual kind, and practicing the Rainbow passage helped me to get rid of the lisp. Definitely takes a week or two but it will get better! :-)
I'm sorry to hear about the hard spots. I do agree so much with the other commenters that your writing is a balm for my soul. I've loved it since I discovered your blog in 2014. It's like immediate peace as soon as I read or log on to your blog. For this reason, I was happy to subscribe immediately to do my small part to sustain you and your family. Hope everything improves for you!
It looks like I'm not the only one who has been feeling *not great* these past weeks. So sorry you are in it, too, Erin. But just seeing the title of this post in my in-box was a balm to all the big feelings I've been having lately. Hope things start to look up for all of us very soon. (Is 68 too old to get one's teeth straightened? Asking for a friend.)
I need to not lurk so much and tell you more often how very much I appreciate your writing. I'm always comforted by your thoughts and words, so matter what they are about. This too shall pass!
Skipped ahead to comment that a salt water rinse is extremely helpful for soothing/healing mouth wounds from aligners - and you will really get used to them within about a week if I remember correctly, and won't have mouth sores anymore. I also "fixed my teeth" as an adult, and while it was very annoying, I went from dental visits where I was always asked if I flossed, reminded on the importance of brushing, etc. to having dentists comment every single time on how clean and healthy my teeth look. It turns out that it is much easier to clean your back teeth if they are not totally overcrowded!
Wishing you all the balms in the borough! I will just echo your reader - I am always comforted by your honesty and care. It always helps me notice what I have around me, and take a breath.
