I can vouch for Making Things! Because of this smart book I gifted a finger-knitted hat rack and s hooks to family, and am gifting jump ropes and bulletin boards to my girls for Christmas. And we’ve been pumping out rope bowels to the point of wearing out my poor old sewing machine! Worth it.
You just convinced me to buy American Bulk for myself from a brick and mortar bookstore today (which I will then donate to my library!) and then make my sister some produce bags to bring to our holiday gathering tomorrow ❤️
The grandparents started giving my kids a gift subscription to The Week Junior several years ago and it remains a hit to this day. We like to read funny and interesting stories aloud at meals when it arrives. I'm a huge fan.
Oh also, here in Canada you can get The Week Junior digitally (as well as many other mags, via Zinio Mags) through the public library. I wonder if you can there and save some $$?
I'm also a sucker for twinkly lights, be it a small store or movie or my own home. I've had twinkly lights and beeswax candles on repeat-early morning and early evening. So thankful for you and your writing Erin, and many of the lovely humans that comment here. I hope you enjoy the holidays!

I second this sentiment

Thank you for these lovely, rational reminders—a fantastic antidote to the shouty emails!
Thanks for reading them! 💝
I made the woven checkerboard from your book for my son for Christmas. It was so much fun to make and I love how it turned out!
Ah I’m so glad to hear that!!!
No need to comment…Jenny said it perfectly! Thank you Erin and enjoy (try to) the Holiday Season…
Thank you! Same to you!
We got a gift subscription to The Week Jr last year and my 8 year old loves it. Highly recommend.
