We have 4 different colors of “the coastal” from Tofino Towel Co. We’ve had them for 4 years , use them at the beach all summer and at the Y all winter and they still look like new. I really can’t recommend them enough. I’m actually buying some more right now to use as a light blanket on my treatment table at work!

decanting mouthwash is a GREAT idea! no more costco bottle on the edge of the bathtub! :)

Erin, have you found quick-drying towels that are made of natural fibres? I’m on a hunt for this summer’s camping trip 🙏🏻

We had a set of 4 linen ones from fog linen from 2012-2022! They were great if a v diff experience from plush terry! Now we have 4 lightweight cotton ones which I like, but I have a feeling won’t last as long as the linen did! Pictured here are three cotton baby swaddles we’ve repurposed as YMCA towels since they discontinued their towel service (dang it all!)!

Thank you for replying. Turkish cotton hammam towels seem to be the best option I can find online so far. Linen sound lush but likely out of my price range.

I'm not Erin (obviously), but I'd recommend thinner linen or cotton towels rather than fluffy terry cloth ones. We buy our bath towels from Rough Linen, but for beach towels, we use thinner cotton Turkish peshtemals because they dry quickly and don't take up much space in a bag.

Thank you I think Turkish is the way I’m going to go 🙏🏻

Erin! I wanted to tell you that I’ve thought of your writing and ideas a lot lately, for the most wonderful reason. I spent pretty much all of my free time this week engaged in the unglamorous work of life maintenance--tooth maintenance and repair, and car maintenance and repair, most notably. I used to absolutely loathe these activities but have been trying to reframe my thinking around them, and instead think about how worthwhile it is to fix and tend to things and to let them live long lives. I really don’t think I would have had that perspective shift were it not for your work. Thank you!

Your partner in midlife tooth repair,

Bailey
