Erin, your book arrived today (I don't want to name the indie store I got it from bc I don't want them to be in trouble for shipping a few days early!) and it's really really really good.

It truly has the energy of those passed-down classic tomes from 70s in terms of its radical "just make do" vibe. Grow Your Own, except it's for objects of everyday use, not plants ✌️

I'm not going to defend Israel's actions. The story by the young girl was horrifying. But also, let's not paint an entire part of the world as kind and generous. I have had one too many asylum clients from this "kind and generous" part of the world, who was subjected to horrific torture and persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender, or political views. This is not black or white - Americans bad, Arabs great. That's too simplistic.

All good points, Christie. I don't think my comment was meant to be quite so broad and I was thinking about individuals rather than governments .... sadly, the persecution that you mention is happening in too many places.

Bulldozer story was amazing and brought me to tears. Cannot believe the unimaginable pain we are all watching the Palestinians live through, enabled by our government.
