Couldn’t agree more re the packing. Sometimes I think what makes mothering so stressful is considering everyone’s ‘needs’ (as we/the culture have determined) all the time. Let the kids pack and forget essentials and see them survive anyway, I say!
Yes! This made me think, too, of one of the many arguments in Before Midnight where Julie Delpy's character is all 'you never pack!' and Ethan Hawke's character gives the classic retort of 'you never LET me pack.' But I think she doesn't want to have the kids suffer (and for her to look like a bad mother, maybe?) if she 'lets' him pack. I have a lot to say about packing, obvs 😆

Agreed! This applies to so much more than packing with littles too. Letting go of some of the control is so freeing! ☺️❤️
