I have fond memories of reading RMTL on Google Reader! So far I like Substack too and was happy to subscribe. As ever, thank you for expanding my horizons with your thoughts and links and now a new platform. All the best on this next leg of your life's adventure.

I can't remember when I started reading, maybe 2011/12. Thanks for finding a way to bring back writing. Your work was missed!

Hooray, Mazel Tov, and good on you! I was not able to successfully navigate online after a pretty successful freelance career in print. The winds of change arrived when an editor I had written for for years, quoted me an amount for an online piece that was half as much as she'd been paying me for print work. Same amount of work, fewer words, less money. I asked her if she'd made a typo in her email re: my fee. She responded something like, "No, because it's online." Also saw much of my previous work re-edited and reposted on their web site. As a contract writer, I got nothing for that. Anyway, I am so glad to be a reader, not a writer these days and am happy that you and others are managing to navigate the wild west of online creativity. Your Tea Notes are thoughtful, funny and a bright spot in my inbox.
