If we’re not bordering on indecent, what are we even doing?!
This was hilarious and so spot on. I’m planning to sew a white midi skirt soon and may need to make a tank like the one you’re wearing;-) thanks for the inspo!
this print is japanese with the tiniest little pastel flowers and they look like something chirri and chirra would eat or drink or make something magical from. you know.
As a person who has now sewn lots of clothes I can say: this is spot on, you've mastered it! LOL, all these little sewing moments and feelings are so well observed. Thank you!
In sewing and crochet designs, some pattern difficulty levels are listed as "confident beginner" or "confident intermediate." Translation: Rogue, but not a complete idiot so lets just do this thing.
*It’s always best to begin a sewing project over-caffeinated and under-fed. Under no circumstances should you shower before sitting down to your machine.*
HAHAHAHA YES! 1000%!!!! Having decided to sew my own wedding dress after making approximately three other garments ever, I so relate. This is the perfect kick in the butt to actually get me back to the sewing machine this weekend to finish some tanks that have been in process for ... five years.
(Wedding dress was in fact completed. Sewed at my Grandma's because she had the better sewing machine and she would remind me to fold it the right direction before cutting. She kept telling me how impressed she was I knew how to sew and then would pick it apart after each visit to fix my wonky seams and a very crooked zipper. Love her forever.)
I had no idea that that funny-looking stitch next to all the fancy buttonhole stitches is a mending stitch! Of the 30 stitch features offered on my machine, I use precisely three and have no idea what the rest are about. This has never prevented me from finishing a project. Perhaps the line "read only half of whatever you find, skim the third quarter and entirely disregard the last" best describes my sewing/crafting approach.
Thank you for broadening my knowledge and potentially adding a fourth sewing machine stitch to my portfolio.
On another note, is that the roof outside your kitchen window? The amount of vegetation/trees around it is awesome, plus your own little mini-garden, so pretty!
This made me laugh so hard! In the beginning of the pandemic I decided to learn to sew because how hard could it be? I've now made 200+ items of clothing but still apparently have no patience. I decided to make a "hard" pattern, took the time to do every single step. Put on the waistband, decided waistband didn't look right and picked up the seam ripper. This would have taken me about 10 minutes. But I was in a hurry and turned the seam ripper over because it's so satisfying to do it this way - and sliced a big rip right through the butt of my jeans. I think I learned my lesson!
